How to test your Android phone’s screen for dead pixels
A dead pixel can be easy to miss during everyday use, especially on a high-resolution Android display. It may appear as a tiny black dot, a bright spot, or a single area that fails to show the correct color. Finding the problem early matters when buying a new phone, checking a replacement screen, or preparing a warranty claim.

If the same dot stays in precisely the same place across different images, hardware is more likely to be responsible. Take close-up photographs with another phone if you need evidence, but remember that camera sensors can create moiré patterns or reflections that are not visible to the naked eye.
Use screenshots to separate software from hardware
A screenshot can help determine whether a visible mark is generated by software. Capture the screen while the suspected defect is visible, then send the image to another phone or computer.
